Work set to start on Ipswich logistics park

Posted on by in Weekly News

Trebor Developments and Hillwood have acquired eight acres of commercial development land from Ipswich Borough Council at Eastern Gateway.

Prior to acquiring the site, Trebor had already secured detailed planning consent in 2022 for a five-unit industrial and logistics scheme, with buildings ranging in size from 1,198m2 to 4,854m2. The units will be built speculatively, with Magrock having been selected as main contractor.

Greg Dalton, Development Director for Trebor commented: “Ipswich is a key industrial and logistics hub in the east of England and we’re delighted to have worked closely with Ipswich Borough Council to secure this latest site acquisition.

“We look forward to investing in much needed new industrial product for this area, delivering all five units on a speculative basis. It’s another example of how our considered and strategic approach to planning and construction can release prime development land.”

Councillor Neil MacDonald, Ipswich Borough Council Leader, said: “Eastern Gateway is a prime area of developable land and, by taking on this site, Ipswich Borough Council has unlocked its potential. We have been successful in our aims to stimulate investment, encourage job creation, and bolster the local economy, and this sale is another great outcome for Ipswich”.

The project is expected to complete by the end of 2024.
