Steel specialist invests in apprentices
Cold roll forming specialist voestalpine Metsec is continuing its investment in the future of the manufacturing industry with six opportunities available to become part of its apprenticeship scheme.
Metsec said the latest intake will bring the company one step closer to its ambition to achieve a 20% home grown workforce by 2020.
At present, 14% of Metsec employees have been through its apprenticeship scheme – equating to almost 50 members of the workforce. All areas of training provided as part of the programme are carried out in-house in a state-of-the-art training facility.
Metsec Environmental Safety and Training Manager Steve Giles said: “It’s vital within our industry to ensure we maintain growth and progression. To enable us to achieve this, it’s important that we dedicate resources to injecting new blood into our industry.
“We provide our apprentices with a full 360-degree view of the company, allowing them to gain a full understanding of each sector of the business, before integrating them with the team upon completion of the award winning four year apprenticeship scheme.”
Applications for the 2015 apprentice intake are open until 30th June.
