September issue of New Steel Construction out now

The September issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC can find it at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This issue’s cover story is a major logistics centre being built on a former RAF site. Panattoni Doncaster 420 represents the largest speculative development currently under construction in Yorkshire.

NSC also features G-Park Basingstoke, a three-span 19,450m2 warehouse currently being built by main contractor Glencar. The project will go some way to satisfying the increasing demand for distribution space along the M3 corridor.

The use of structural steelwork has created the exposed industrial-looking interior for an office block at the St Pancras Campus in London. A steel-framed solution was also chosen to maximise the floorplates with large 11.8m spans.

Following the principles set out in Kier Construction’s own KSchool design platform, a new teaching block at the Borden Grammar School in Sittingbourne is using a steel frame that supports precast flooring.

NSC also features industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
