September issue of New Steel Construction out now

The September issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC can find it at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story is a new footbridge, which has linked the two halves of Cornwall’s Tintagel Castle for the first time in more than 500 years. The bridge has been constructed using steelwork fabricated in Plymouth, locally-sourced Cornish slate for the deck, and oak.

Two schools are featured in this issue of NSC, including Dixons Trinity Chapeltown in Leeds. The designers for this school chose to use a steelwork solution because they wanted a lightweight frame that was quick to erect.

On former military land at Deepcut in Surrey, a new steel-framed school is one of the first structures to be built for a new community to be known as Mindenhurst.

80 Fenchurch Street is the latest commercial scheme in the square mile to be featured in NSC. This 15-storey building has open-plan floorplates, a spiralling atrium and landscaped terraces with views across the capital.

The Warth Park distribution hub in Northampton is now constructing its third phase, cementing the county’s position as the UK’s leading logistics location.

NSC also features a Steel for Life Headline Sponsor article from ArcelorMittal, industry news, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, and codes and standards updates.
