ASD has announced the acquisition of the assets of Atlantic Steel Processing, based in Birkenhead, Merseyside. The company will also introduce a new product line, De-coiled hot rolled sheets and reversing mill plate. With an expanded capability to stock and de-coil 2,500mm-wide coils, in gauges from 5mm to 20mm, ASD said it becomes the only distributor in Northern Europe with such an extensive capability.

Dundee City Council has granted planning permission for an Eden Project to be built on a former gasholder site in the city. The scheme will combine exhibits, performance, learning, play, immersive experiences, world-class horticulture, live music, art, and food, beverage and retail spaces, all integrated as essential parts of the overall experience.

Developer Clowes Developments has appointed TanRo as main contractor for the first phase at Stud Brook Business Park in Castle Donnington, Leicestershire. The mixed-use development will include employment, amenity, office, retail and industrial units ranging in size from 139m2 to 4,180m2.

Galliford Try’s Morrison Construction Building Central business has secured the £69M contract to build the new Paisley Grammar School Community Campus on behalf of Renfrewshire Council. The three-storey school will feature a 300-seat theatre, alongside educational facilities for up to 1,380 pupils. Externally, the school will have all-weather sports pitches and landscaped areas.

Esh Construction is delivering a new bus station in Bishop Auckland after being awarded a £6.4M contract by Durham County Council. The new station will offer modern and accessible facilities for passengers, with eight stands and improved passenger information. It will also house a retail kiosk, CCTV, and toilet facilities, including an accessible toilet, changing places and, a parent and child facility.
