Latest issue of New Steel Construction out now

NSCOct15CovFPThe October issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) is now available in both print and digital formats and will be landing on desks this week.

Anyone who does not already receive the print magazine and would like to subscribe should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

October’s NSC features the usual mix of construction project reports, updates on key technical issues from industry experts as well as news from around the UK’s steel sector.

Project reports in this issue include two educational facilities in Scotland, the Wick Community Campus and Inverness Royal Academy.

The multi-million pound project in Wick will deliver educational and community facilities, housed within two large steel-framed buildings. At Inverness, the Academy has utilised steel construction for its indoor sporting facilities.

Having secured a contract to manufacture trains for London’s Crossrail, NSC reports on Bombardier’s steel-framed train inspection building in Derby.

The London commercial sector is as buoyant as ever and NSC has two articles from the capital. At One New Street Square, an innovative 17-storey cantilevering section of the building is hung from a rooftop girder to create a column-free entrance area.

Also in London, another steel-framed office block is under construction at Pancras Square, which is a integral element within N1C, one of Europe’s largest regeneration schemes.

A large mixed-use scheme in Beverley, said to be the biggest project in the town since 1420, and a technical article from the Steel Construction Institute are also featured in this issue.
