January issue of New Steel Construction out now

nscjan2017coveThe first issue of New Steel Construction (NSC) for 2017 is now available in both digital and print formats that will be arriving in the post this week.

Anyone who does not receive the print magazine and would like a free subscription (UK and Ireland only) should visit: www.steelconstruction.info while readers who prefer the digital offering of NSC, this is available at: www.newsteelconstruction.com

This month’s cover story is the Ince Biomass Energy Plant in Cheshire, which has required 3,500t of structural steelwork. Once operational the facility will process up to 170,000t per year of recovered waste wood, enough to power around 40,000 homes.

Stockport town centre is in the midst of a large-scale regeneration scheme that will enhance its credentials as a business, leisure and shopping destination. One of the main elements of this programme is the Redrock project which will deliver a cinema complex and a multi-storey car park.

Steel for Life is once again highlighted in the magazine with a Headline Sponsor piece on software specialist Trimble, while two Sector Focus articles highlight fasteners and bolts, and bespoke steelwork.

An historic aircraft hangar in Norwich is being converted into a new aviation academy. The original steel frame has been renovated and new steel mezzanines have been installed within the structure.

A national college to train specialist rail engineers is being built in Doncaster, a town with a long railway heritage, while steel-framed commercial developments are playing a central role in the wide-ranging redevelopment of Slough town centre.

NSC also features, as usual, a technical article and advisory desk from the Steel Construction Institute, industry news, and codes and standards updates.
