Ficep showcases rapid drilling line

FICEP-Rapid151022EMO Milan 2015 (World of Metalworking) was chosen as the launch pad for Ficep’s latest CNC high-speed drilling line known as Rapid.

Ficep said the new drilling line is suitable for angles and flats, and offers high productivity, quality, flexibility, accuracy and lower production costs.

The CNC materials handling system loads the angles on to the conveyor track, which then automatically clamps the workpiece in position and allows every process to take place sequentially.

The two drilling heads are equipped with direct drive spindles and an automatic tool changer with six positions for each of the spindles. The CNC system controls spindle positioning and feed rates as well as linear guides. It also controls the servomotors and ball screws to ensure precision on every axis.

The Rapid CNC drilling lines are also modular and Ficep says they can incorporate scribing, hard stamp marking, single or double shearing or alternatively, high-speed circular carbide saws.

Optional hard stamping CNC marking units have eight selectable cassette types, each one including 13 characters.

Depending on the Rapid model, fast cutting is provided by either a single cut hydraulic shearing unit or a high-speed circular saw with hardened carbide inserts.
