Experienced auditors wanted for SCCS
The Steel Construction Certification Scheme (SCCS) is looking for experienced contract auditors to join their team of professional contract auditors.
The Steel Construction Certification Scheme (SCCS) is a certification body focused on clients engaged in the design, manufacture and installation of structural steelwork and its associated products and services. SCCS is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the British Constructional Steelwork Association and is registered with UKAS.
“The introduction of new standards and growing demand for certification services is providing opportunities for experienced auditors across the UK in the steel fabrication and erection sector. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced auditors to develop and expand their scope and influence,” said BCSA Director General Sarah McCann-Bartlett.
Appropriate training will be made available, but successful candidates will have at least four to five years’ experience in auditing to one or more of ISO-17021, ISO-9001, ISO-14001, OHSAS-18001, and EN-1090-1.
Preference will be given to those with IRCA registration. While some knowledge of the design, fabrication, painting and erection of structural steelwork is desirable, candidates with a background in related industries will be considered.
The objective of the SCCS is to secure high standards of excellence and quality across the whole of the steelwork industry through independent certification.
SCCS is UKAS Accredited, and provides certification of:
• Quality Management Systems to BS EN ISO 9001
• Environmental Management Systems to BS EN 14001
• Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems to BS OHSAS 18001
• Factory Production Control to BS EN 1090-1
• National Highways Sector Schemes 19A, 20 and 3
SCCS is governed by a Certification Board made up of voluntary industry representatives, including construction clients, engineers, and steelwork contractors.
