Acquisition signals green light for Yorkshire logistics hub

Posted on by in Weekly News

A joint venture between developer Cole Waterhouse and real estate manager Henderson Park is set to acquire a 136-acre logistics development in Kellingley, Yorkshire, which will ultimately provide 130,000m2 of warehouse space.

The site is 20km from Leeds and has outline planning consent. Seven units are expected to be developed ranging in size from 3,700m2 to 68,000m2, with single ownership of the site said to offer an opportunity to design and create a strategic estate for a mix of tenants.

Located on a former colliery site, the plot has already been prepared for development and work is due to commence this month, with the first units ready for occupation by early 2023.

The JV said, once operational, the logistics hub will deliver significant new supply of much needed state-of-the-art, energy-efficient warehouse space in an undersupplied regional market.

Sustainability will be a key consideration at all stages of development, with the finished assets targeting high BREEAM ratings.

Cole Waterhouse CEO Damian Flood said: “The acquisition of this superb logistics site demonstrates our continued commitment to developing in the industrial and logistics sector.

“This is our first project with Henderson Park and we are excited to be working with an experienced JV partner.”
